PUBLICATIONS
GPRA will produce three publications in 2008, each directed at medical
trainees in different phases of their professional life. A presence in these
publications will help raise your profile among the GPs of tomorrow – whether they are medical students, doctors undergoing pre-vocational
training, or those currently practicing as GP registrars.
The Registrar Guide
GPRA’s flagship publication, this provides essential information to help
registrars successfully complete the GP training program. The stylish,
full colour guide provides an excellent vehicle for direct communication
with registrars, Regional Training Providers, medical educators and
organisations involved in General Practice training.

The Pre-vocational Guide To General Practice
Pre-vocational doctors are an often overlooked group. This publication
offers a valuable opportunity to form early relationships with young medical
professionals on the threshold of their careers. These doctors are yet to
enter a specific training program. Some are still exploring all the options,
while others have decided which specialty they wish to pursue but are still
working out the best way to get there. The Pre-vocational Guide supports
this transitional phase and encourages enrolment in the GP training
program. It provides essential information about general practice itself,
training programmes and the selection process.

• Rural Clinical Schools
• Association Networks

The Medical Students’ Guide To General Practice
General Practice employs more medical graduates than any other single
specialty area. Despite this, the on campus profile of General Practice is
surprisingly low. This publication addresses the paucity of information
available to medical students about a career in this important specialty.

NEW INITIATIVES
Practice Pages Online
Practice Pages™ Online migrates the role currently served by our hardcopy
publication to the web, thus allowing easier access to people seeking
information on, or employment within GP training practices throughout
Australia. This service will enable medical practices to advertise practice
positions and to better differentiate themselves from competing practices.
Practice Pages Online also provides information on government initiatives
such as the Outer Metro Relocation Incentive Scheme thereby increasing
awareness and ensuring that these incentives are a part of the decision
making process when doctors are seeking placement within the GP Training
Practices. The medical practices database will not only be available to the
medical industry, but also to the general community for sourcing of practice
information (at no charge).
By advertising on PRACTICE PAGES™ ONLINE not only will you put
your product and capabilities under the scrutiny of GP Registrars,
General Practitioners, Allied health professionals and Managers and
staff of Medical Practices throughout Australia, but also the whole
community, through Community Practice Pages.
Online Exam Resources (OER)
GPRA has developed a resource to help GP Registrars prepare for the
clinical exams run by the Royal Australian College of General Practice
(RACGP). The exams are held twice a year and every Registrar must sit
this exam whilst they are enrolled in the three year GP Training Program.
The OER website contains downloadable clinical cases, written in the same
Performa as RACGP uses for the exam, and they are written by doctors
specifically for the GP Registrars. The OER Website has six months of
peak exposure time throughout the year. (These would be the three months
prior to each exam.) However due to the imperative nature of this exam
there would be all year interest and traffic to the site.
The Promotional opportunities for these two products include clickable logo placement (with a link to your website), advertising banners along the bottom of the page or smaller advertisements amongst the content of the page.
