If you want to get involved in supporting other registrars, brainstorming, addressing issues and finding solutions, joining a  subcommittee is a great way to help out and get your ideas heard.

All meetings are held on Elluminate (online teleconference), unless otherwise stated.

Rural Subcommittee

Considers issues faced by rural and regionally
based registrars. 

Aboriginal Medical Services

There is a wide disparity in pay, support, and conditions for registrars in AMS’s compared to mainstream practices. Registrars working in AMS’s also face issues relating to cultural safety and training.

In-practice Teaching

Concerned with the delivery of in-practice teaching according to the 2005 RACGP standards, including teaching and supervision quality and quantity.

International Medical Graduates

Considers issues around International Medical Graduates.

RLO Issues
TBA

The role of the RLO is vital in AGPT, providing early intervention and mitigation of problems, grassroots information, and feedback to RTP’s, and information to GPRA to identify trends and concerns. The differences between RLO positions across RTPs are evident. Some aspects of roles work well. We are aiming to identify what aspects work well. The main aim of this subcommittee is to secure the role of the RLO within AGPT.

Practice Allocation Policy

RTP’s practice allocation policies should be transparent, fair, and have an associated and accessible appeals process in order to operate consistently, avoid perceptions of favouritism, and not disenfranchise vulnerable registrars.

Fatigue Managment
TBA

Raise industry-wide recognition of the importance of safe working hours in General Practice, working with all interested stakeholders towards forming policy, and implementing change.

National Minimum Terms and ConditionsTBA

Periodical subcommittee concerned with authorship and negotiation of the National Minimum Terms and Conditions for  GPT1/2 registrars.
