GPRA's Role in NMTC Development

The management and negotiation of the National Minimum Terms & Conditions is the primary area of advocacy for GPRA.

The NMTC is updated every two years and is constantly on GPRA’s advocacy agenda, and salary calculations are indexed in accordance with the CPI every year.  The NMTC is critical to registrars working and training under fair and reasonable conditions, which support an appropriate educational environment.

As the registrars’ advocate in NMTC negotiations, GPRA is establishing conditions which are in its members’ interests in vital areas of their working life:

  • Work hours including after hours and on call

  • Workload

  • Supervision

  • Personal safety

  • Remuneration

  • Other entitlements – leave, expenses, superannuation etc.

A GPRA Board Committee is responsible for NMTC issues and the negotiation process.
