Breathing NEW LIFE into general practice 2012: General practice in the HOT seat

Breathing NEW LIFE into general practice 2012GPRA is gearing-up to host the signature event on the general practice landscape — ‘Breathing New Life (BNL) into general practice’.

The BNL conference will be held on Monday 19 March 2012 and will once again take place at the Great Hall, Parliament House, Canberra.

This year’s conference is GPRA’s fifth BNL event and the theme, General practice in the HOT seat, will see presidents of GP organisations, international speakers and key ministers take centre stage.

  • Watch as the next generation of GPs ask the hard questions and start to claim their space as the future general practice leaders.

  • Discuss the challenges and opportunities that GPs face, and find out about the innovative ways that leaders are responding to them.

  • Meet the future leaders of general practice, and get their thoughts and views on how to best shape the profession for tomorrow.

Take a look at the 2012 BNL program.

Please note that BNL 2012 is an invitation only event. Invitations will be mailed in January 2012. For further information, please email naomi.sher@gpra.org.au or call (03) 9629 8878.

Managing patients with diabetes has become the biggest growth industry in the world. It was once believed to be a specialist disease. In 2011 we know diabetes is not a specialist disease but is a team disease with the GP ideally positioned to co-ordinate the uninterrupted care of patients from diagnosis to death, with minimization of complications and events.

Healthscope Medical Centres invites GPRA members to participate in their upcoming educational series entitled “Changing How We Manage Diabetes In General Practice”. This series aims to help GP’s become more confident and consistent in their management of their diabetes patients.
