GPRA AGM 2007
GPRA held the Annual General Meeting at 0900 hrs on Saturday 17th August at the Gold Coast International Hotel in Surfers Paradise. Dr Naomi Harris, recently elected Chair of the GPRA Board outlined her vision for 2008 and beyond whilst cementing her resolve to provide enhanced services to Registrars, pre-vocational doctors and medical students.
Saturday morning also saw GPRA bid farewell to Vice-Chair, Dr Stuart Anderson and Board Directors Dr Anna Colwell and Dr Lachlan Fieldhouse. We thank them for their tireless efforts during their terms and wish them all the best for the future.

GPRA LAUNCHES NEW CORPORATE SUPERANNUATION FUND
GPRA would like to announce the launch of a new corporate superannuation fund for General Practice Registrars, General Practitioners, and their employees and spouses. The GPRA has partnered with Austplan Professionals Pty Ltd and Aviva Australia to provide a tailored superannuation package specifically designed to ensure peace of mind and access to a quality product, which can allow members to maintain a comfortable lifestyle in retirement.

NEW REGISTAR REP ON GPET BOARD
GPRA would like to announce the appointment of Dr Stuart Anderson as the new Registrar Rep on the GPET Board.
Stuart is currently undertaking an ARSP in Surgery in Sale, Victoria and holds an academic role with the Monash University East Gippsland Regional Clinical School. He was the GetGP RLO from 2004-2007. He has worked at Box Hill, Bairnsdale and Launceston as an RMO before moving to the Gippsland Riviera in 2004. He has also been on the GPRA Board since 2005 and currently holds the position of Vice Chair. Stuart has special interests in aboriginal health, adolescent health, minor procedures and education. Outside of medicine, Stuart is a keen motorcyclist and drummer, although he doesn’t look intimidating enough for either of those roles.

New GPRA Chair
GPRA would like to announce the appointment of Dr Naomi Harris as the new GPRA chair following the completion of Dr Rachael Sutherland's term as chair. Dr Sutherland has provided new direction to GPRA during her term as Chair and we thank her for support and guidance over the last 12 months.
Dr Naomi Harris is a subsequent term Registrar working in rural Warrnambool in Victoria. Dr Harris has been on the GPRA Board for just over a year and we look forward to her guidance and leadership in the months to come. She can be contacted on chair@gpra.org.au

GPRA is proud to present the 2007 Registrar Guide. This year's guide not only has updated content but also includes recent changes to the training program as well as a breadth of new initiatives and services for Registrars.

GPRA is proud to announce the launch of the Mentors Program. if you are interested in a career in General Practice then this program will allow you to get support and advice from people currently in the training program.
Your Mentor can provide you with an informal contact point in the system for advice in navigating the maze that is GP training, from the stage you're at to the achievement of fellowship.
